Experimental sessions

The students will have a designated project to be developed in a two-day (4 hours session each) after which they will prepare a poster with their findings and to be presented in a Friday poster session before the closure of the event.

Some of the projects to be performed at Uniandes are:

  1. The magnetism of Metallic Nanoparticles (Nanomagnetismo: use of VSM and Superconducting Magnet)
  2. Magnetism of Transition Metal Oxides heterostructures (Nanomagnetismo: use of VSM and SC Magnet)
  3. First Order Reversal Curves of Magnetic Nanoparticles (Nanomagnetismo: use of VSM)
  4. Magnetic recording fundamentals (Microscopy Laboratory: Magnetic Force Microscopy and Focus Ion Beam)
  5. Magnetostriction effect (Teaching Labs, Departamento de Física)
  6. High-Temperature Superconductivity in bulk materials (Nanomagnetismo: use of VSM and SC Magnet)
  7. Density Functional Theory Calculations of metallic ferromagnetic materials.
  8. Simulations of Angle-resolved Photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES) spectra for basic many-body interactions.
  9. Manipulation of magnetic microrobots (Departamento de Física)
  10. Montecarlo simulations of magnetic systems (Uniandes)
  11. Simulation of magnetic spectroscopy in Quanty (Uniandes)

At Universidad ECCI

  1. Heat production via magnetic hyperthermia using magnetic nanoparticles.
